Reminiscing about Wimbledon...

Beautiful flowers in a hanging basket

Red and white flowers- v vibrant!!

Here's a pic from Wimbledon last year!! V lucky:)

Another beautiful sunny day!!!:):):)

Today was another v interesting day on work experience. Firstly I went to a Cath Lab that looked at patients heart to primarily check that the blood vessels are all working normal and none of them are blocked. Consequently, I therefore saw intervention on patients who had blocked vessels, for example one patient had to have a stent to widen the blood vessels. This is because if the blood vessel is blocked  it could cause a heart attack.

In the afternoon, I learned lots of different clinical skills which tbh I found it be tricky! First up was injections so we had model arms that we had to inject. Another skill was looking at vital signs so blood pressure, heart rate and temperature and how you can measure these things to then decide what the next action should be and the amount of monitoring a patient requires. Moreover, perhaps my favourite was taking blood because probably I could do this one!! Finally, we learned how to do stitches on a patient which you would assume would be fine especially if you are a keen sower but as unfortunately I am not I found this the  most difficult especially with all the utensils that you had to use.

However, all these struggles did not really matter because it was so so so so hot! It seems this week is always boiling as it was last year when I was in London. Actually, this time last year I was in Wimbledon!! My mum and I were trying to remember who we saw play and I think we concluded we deffo saw Tsonga but not sure of the opponent! I loved Wimbledon especially being able to go onto Centre Court and sit relaxing on Henman's Hill.

Tomorrow I am going to A&E which should be very exciting. But from someone's account today A&E was v quiet so they were not able to see much. Hopefully tomorrow will be busier (that I know sounds wrong:/)

Finally, I'd just like to say I can't believe in three days of me starting this blog I have had 100+ views- crazy- thank you!! But please remember to comment and leave your views or opinions on anything I have written about, especially if I have something wrong or if you have any advice etc for me! V much appreciated!!

Thank you so much for reading!!

First Day Nerves...

Good Evening!!

It is a beautiful evening tonight. Hope you are all well.?

Today was my first day of work experience and it was soo interesting. We had the induction this morning (that was kinda boring, shh) But this afternoon, I really enjoyed it! We went around 4 different activities from monitoring heart rates to looking at skeletons although I didn't know that much about it!! My favourite part was probably learning how to use a defibrillator, it was surprising how easy it was to use. Moreover, I enjoyed the airways section where we had a go at putting tubes down a dummies mouth as well as using a oxygen mask and pump. Finally, we had a go at simulation with a full sized human dummy, that was slightly weird as it talked, blinked etc but it was all pretty cool tbh!!!

I have to say, I am so excited for the rest of the week especially Wednesday and Friday when I get to go to A&E and theatre, I wonder what'll I will see...

Tomorrow I am going to a Cath Lab that I believe is to do with cardiology, which hopefully will be productive. There's also a clinical skills session in the afternoon that will be good- love it when it's hands on!!

When I got back home after the work experience I had a mini Pink Raspberry Magnum that was delicious- I'd deffo recommend!

Think I'm now going to have a shower and then head to bed- v tired after today!!

Thank you all for reading :)

The big '75' balloons!!
The gorgeous, terrific and deffo not yappy yorkie!!

The chocolately chocolate cupcakes!!!!

Good Evening!

Did anyone see Kanye headlining Glastonbury last night- singing Bohemian Rhapsody, wth!!! He is pretty cool tho, would have loved to have seen him, a few of my friends were there- well jel!

I had a lovely sleep, didn't wake up until 10, oops! Although, it is better than the night before when I woke up at half 6 :(

Today, I went down to my Grandma's for lunch for her 75th birthday! It was delightful, my uncle prepared a delicious spread even though I am a fussy eater- that can be a nightmare, I know! My grandma's back wasn't feeling so good today- btw she badly bruised the back of her back falling off a stool a couple of weeks ago. My grandma's little Yorkie- literally little he is tiny but so cute. How could I forget, the amazing chocolate cupcakes we had- pure cadbury chocolate icing= crazy good!!! So tasty could eat them forever.....

I am starting work experience tomorrow- eek! I am going to my local hospital which should be exciting but still quite nerve-wracking. The dress code seemed quite strict so I've bought some new trousers and blouses/shirts to wear- I will have to show you them. Hopefully, by doing this work experience I will able gain a greater idea of what it means to be a doctor- a career I hope to follow, fingers crossed on my grades this summer.

I was meant to be doing my Dofe expedition this weekend but think I had a lucky escape as it was torrential rain this morning!!! (I am doing it in two weeks time because this one meant missing a day of work experience that wasn't ideal)

I've realised I use a lot of '!' does anyone know what I can replace this with?! (there we go again)

Currently, I am watching 'Escape to the Continent',  I have always loved property programmes, it is so interesting. Especially when the houses are beautiful, it is so dreamy!! My favourite are any programmes with Kirstie and Phil- love it, love it, love it!

Hope you are well and thank you so much for reading!!

Welcome and Thank You...

Welcome to my blog 'HazOnline.'

I have been toying (not sure if that's the spelling, good start!) with the idea of writing a blog for a while now, actually since last summer. Even writing this now, I am still not sure whether this is a good idea, my legs are actually tingling!

You may be thinking why are you writing this then?! Well, the reasons I have plumped to write this blog is that honestly I want to write just for fun but also as a way of talking to you about issues, funny, sad, happy and bring hopefully an optimistic little place on the internet.

In my life, like many of you there are many experiences who shape who you are as a person and by writing this blog I would like to highlight some of these events gradually. I want to do this as a way to let things off my chest and perhaps allow some of you to be able to relate to these experiences. Over time, I hope that you will be able to learn more and more about me and I will be able to learn more and more about you.

Anyway, what are you doing right now? Currently, I am watching Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix, it is actually very dramatic at the moment and I am smelling the smoke coming from the chimaneer (still not sure on the spelling!?) Tomorrow, I am going down to my Grandma's again for her 75th birthday, which will be lovely- hopefully if this works out I will be able to share with you some amazing memories I have with her!

So, I think I will finish this FIRST blogpost now (scary!) as Voldermort is getting very nasty and distracting! Thank you so much for reading this if you have got to the end, or even if you have not, and actually I look forward to (fingers crossed) writing another post tomorrow...
